I've had a huge response just by adding some layering. If you have longer hair, try asking for long layers with blended bangs. they blend into your hair so it doesn't have to be perfect all the time. actually, ive found that the more messed up it looks, the better. My next cut I am getting unconstructed layers that taper towards the end. better for long hair, similar to a nicole richie hippie hairstyle. if you can get your hair colored, adding some type of highlight, lowlight or toner can be a nice change to the hue of your hair. if its brown, try some auburn in there...really warms it up. different colors look great with more layered hair, i would go more for a natural look with really thin high/lowlights.

a buzz cut... it would make the guys jaws drop but i don't know if it would be in the way that you want.
